Sanford, York County
A mill city on the Mousam.
Sanford grew around the Mousam River. Thomas Goodall built Goodall Mills there in 1867, and between 1880 and 1910 the population more than tripled as workers arrived. The company even built worker housing and sold it to employees at cost.
Many of those older homes are still standing in Sanford and in the village of Springvale, and after more than a century their foundations and framing often need real work.
Sanford became a city in 2013 and is now one of the largest municipalities in Maine, so we also do plenty of site work and foundations for new homes and additions.

What we see in Sanford
Old homes, new growth.
Sanford work falls into three groups.
Mill era homes
Century old houses
Homes built in the mill years often need foundation replacement and new sills after more than a hundred winters.
Springvale
Village homes
Older homes in Springvale need the same careful foundation and structural repairs.
Growth
New homes and additions
As one of Maine's larger cities, Sanford keeps building. We clear, dig and build foundations for new projects.
Inland Maine
Built for Maine winters.
Sanford is inland, so our work here is about solid ground: foundations deep enough to beat the frost, framing strong enough to carry snow, and drainage that keeps water away from the house.
✓ Footings set below the local frost depth
✓ Framing repaired and sized for the load
✓ Permits through the City of Sanford
